The University of Hull student was turned away from Welly nightclub in late January and was last seen on the corner of Haworth Street and Beverley Road in Le early the next morning after taking a cab to her house on Wellesley Avenue.
Police found body
Despite police documents and a nationwide appeal, Libby’s body was tragically found in the Humber Estuary six weeks later.
Relowicz, 26, formerly on Raglan Street near Newland Avenue, was charged with rape and murder in October of that year.
He was due to be tried in June 2020 but has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Relowicz will now be brought to justice before Judge Lambert.
The trial will take place at Sheffield Crown Court and is expected to last four weeks.
Just a day after her disappearance, Humberside Police conducted extensive door-to-door searches and investigations to find answers.
Attention was initially focused on Libby, where she was last seen, and her house on nearby Wellesley Avenue.
More than 50 police officers and a police helicopter searched the areas around Beverley Road, Inglemire Lane, Haworth Street and Cottingham Road.
They conducted door-to-door surveys, recruiting 200 junior officers to help with the search. The police asked people to search their warehouses and outbuildings.
The force focused its search on the playgrounds near Beresford Park and Oak Road.
The students also searched the grounds of the University of Hull and the parishioners worked together to find Libby.
