A South Australian man accused of killing his roommate allegedly committed the crime after internet access talks, a court has heard.

Nikola Milosevic reportedly beat Danny Barber, 52, to death in a building in North Plympton in 2019.

Milosevic is accused of using a baseball bat, bicycle and trash can in the attack, the court heard on Wednesday.

Witness

Barber died after receiving 30 moderate to severe blows to the head, legs and arms over several hours.

The jury was told that witnesses would testify that they saw Barber on the lawn and Milosevic “carrying a container on wheels … holding it in front of them and above the ground” before they

Prosecutors said the motive for the attack was ongoing and heated discussions about internet access.

On the night of the alleged murder, Milosevic found an abusive handwritten note from Barber on his bedroom door, held in place with a knife, ”the court said.

Milosevic denied any involvement in the crime and reportedly told another roommate, “Talk to the police … I’ll beat your head.”
