A recently launched GoFundMe page in her name revealed that she had been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, a rare form of colorectal cancer. As of Thursday morning, the crowdsourcing campaign had raised $ 255 of its goal of $ 30,000.
Cassandra Anne Jakusz was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and then spent time in San Francisco and New York before permanently moving to New Orleans, according to her CBS biography of her. She worked there as an artist, using watercolors and found objects, and worked as a waitress in the French Quarter.
Despite her many colorful tattoos, Jakusz’s castaways “Survivor” gave her the infamous nickname “No Fun Angie” when she appeared on the 2005 season of reality television pioneer CBS, which was set in Palau. She competed for the Ulong Tribe.
Jakusz, who also co-starred in the raunchy 1998 indie film “Lucinda’s Spell,” actually made a bit of reality history on “Survivor,” The Sun reported. She was eliminated on the 12th, making her the first contestant to lose during the re-election phase to the tribal council.
Despite her strong performances in various tag team challenges, she ended up ranking 13th when she got the start. Diehard fans of hers later spotted her at the show’s 10th anniversary party that aired in 2010.
Angie is survived by her husband Steven Calandra and her parents, as well as her brother, niece and nephew.
